Well that was the best explanation of the Substack thing I’ve seen yet. I think there is real room for individual creators across industries to provide direct to consumer offerings through platforms like this that will top the balance of power on its side.
The health insurance situation is real though and I don’t see that being addressed here, or really anywhere. Companies like Disney, Warner, or even Image should create systems that allow freelancers to buy into their plans.
Or the US should have socialized medicine, or AT LEAST single payer.
Have you looked into Agile project management frameworks at all, Kelly Sue? I wonder if the two week plan & prioritize/work/review workflow would help you. Most versions are great for small teams, and can be adapted for one person working alone, too. And because you're only ever planning out and working a two-ish week cycle, they're very responsive to changing environments and priorities. I'm a Scrum Master, and I'm happy to chat, if that would be helpful or just give some links, if that's better.
As a fellow Scrum certified professional, I do have to say I look at all things through these lenses and it really helps me break out all of my projects, not just my software stuff but my printmaking as well.
I don't generally know how I feel about substack yet, I still prefer physical to digital comics, but I try to look for any opportunity to give you guys monies, so I'll definitely bite if you guys do.
I’ve never managed to kickstart bullet journaling, though I love the idea. Ryder’s father Jonathan Carroll is one of my very favorite authors, and if you’ve never had the pleasure, I can’t recommend his work enough.
I'm a librarian for Street Books! I'm so excited for the shout out to this great organization. Please everyone definitely check it out.

He is one of my favorites too and I freaked TF out when I put together that he was Ryder's dad. I tweeted about it and JC responded.
We watched Lady Parts with our 13yo and we loved it! Wanted so much more.
The wife and I proper loved it. Just a shame it was only a mini-series. My favourite character was probably Taz's gran.
