I know this is the last thing you want to hear, but training your dog not to chew on their leash will save you in the long run. They sell sprays that prevent dogs from chewing, but it really depends on the dog (I had a dog who LOVED bitter apple 😓). There are also different styles of leashes and harnesses, which are suited to different temperaments and types of dogs. Some people have a lot of success with the gentle leader (goes around the nose), or a front clip harness, back clip harness, etc.
I really like Ruffwear brand stuff for my dog (in my case, wearing a pack keeps my dog focused during walks and stops her pulling), but it's pricey so I wouldn't let her chew on it! Good luck!! Puppies are such a handful and training them to walk well is hard. 🍕🐶

Um, I would like to gently and politely add a small correction for future reference ? If you’re talking about the country, it’s spelled Colombia, with an ‘o’. But very cool to see my homeland has great taste in comics.

This is the harness we use with our Labrador. You clip the lead to the clips on the harness rather than at the collar.
