I'm late coming to this. I'm sitting down today and catching up on my substacks. But i work in small town concert promotion, and so much of what you laid out works for promoting music as well! I have a lot of the same ideas for promotion, and it's great to hear it coming from a real pro!! Lots of great ideas and thoughts I'll take back to my own career. Thank you so much for sharing. ❤️
Sent a screenshot of your bathroom and description of it to my spouse with the caption “this is sick!!!!” your interior design skills are superior to all!
Tattoo campaign on Instagram. Fans post their tattoos of art from the secret new book. Fans include the height and width of their tats so KSD and team can keep a running tally of human skin wearing the book’s art.
How do we fans get tattoos from a book in time to publicize its first printing? To that I say “I don’t know”.
Hi, move heaven and earth to see your Dad. I just joined the club this week and I am all bruised (metaphorically) from beating myself up about all of the times I wasn't a good son. I love y'all and hope the best.
Aw, Jason, I’m so sorry. Love to you. (Fortunately, I see my Dad almost literally every day—sometimes more often than that—as I walk his dogs. But getting him to Italy is going to be a bit of a trick.)
I nodded in agreement so many times while reading this. I’m a Dutch writer of children’s books. My readers are kids and not online or social media (unless I start a YouTube channel, which I won’t). So my “Friends” and “Potential Friends” are parents and teachers and booksellers. I quit Twitter because. Instagram is getting less and less popular and Bluesky is quiet. My Substack has 300 followers. On Facebook only my colleagues and family read my posts.
Ten years ago I sold 50.000 copies of my trilogy and that all started on Twitter. There’s no way to recreate that era right now. There’s no substitute. It’s a bit frustrating sometimes.

They’re not the boss of me! ; )

Points for thinking outside the box and by the box I mean the confines of space and time.
