I support your moving and I actually like good old fashioned blogging and RSS feeds, no social platform tracking and disinformation bot creepiness. From my consumer standpoint, I don't see a difference between Substack and a blog post. I just want to read what you've written without being bombarded by ads and unrelated BS.

People misunderstand the concept of free speech. Substack isn't the public square and it isn't preventing anyone from standing on a street corner in a Hitler costume screaming about the final solution. It's a privately owned, for profit company that can make choices about hosting people that support mass murder. I will be choosing to leave the platform and hope that the fine people who's content I enjoy will also move so that I can continue to consume their work.

handwringing over substack allowing Nazi content rather ironic when you have had absolutely nothing to say about ongoing Naziesque genocide and for the past 100+ days

Hi Kelly Sue, a former substacker I follow named Molly White moved to “self hosting an instance of the open source blogging platform Ghost.” I don’t totally know what that means 🙂 but she has the details at citationneeded.news

If you need anymore BS (ha!) codes, I also have 5 that can be used. I hope things get back up and running for y’all out there soon!

Thank you. Nobody needs this platform right now.

I like blogs, and WordPress allows people to subscribe via email for free. Button Down seems alright too but it's not free.

Thanks for your suit analogy! It's got me planning my next story better :)
